2008's surprise superstars MGMT chatted with Entertainment Weekly this week, revealing their plans for ablum #2, and their shock at receiving multiple Grammy nominations for the 2010 event.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, singer Andrew VanWyngarden told of the band's surprise at being nominated for two Grammys last week, "It was a complete surprise. I freaked out!" While he's thrilled at being nominated, VanWyngarden isn't expecting to walk away with anything, "My instinct would tell me that Black Eyed Peas will probably sweep everything."
The interview goes on to discuss recent events including an appearance on Yo Gabba Gabba and a collaboration with Kid Cudi, but it's talk of the second album that piques most interest, as VanWyngarden suggests fans of the band may be in for a surprise, "For people that just know our singles, it’s going to be a big change. For people who get into some of the other tracks on the first album that were more psychedelic and classic-rock-influenced, they’ll be happy."
The world is waiting, boys.
