After many years of party mayhem Onelove has decided to shut up shop with their weekly club nights across the country; but only after establishing some pretty impressive brands first! Stacey Lewis reports.
Club brand Onelove behind weekly nights known to many Melburnians as "Prince" or POW has shut up shop on the club front's weekly hosting. After over 500 big party nights across the country in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney owners have decided to direct their energy into bigger and better things.
Since starting the club brand as a Saturday night in St Kilda Onelove grew to host numerous nights across the country as well as national festival Stereosonic, House brand and festival Betterdays, Summer event Solar Music Festival, 2 music labels and many other associated projects.
It's been an interesting year for Club land in general, with numerous changes to alcohol and violence stand points. In conjunction with the ever growing festival scene it seems many punters are spending their dollars on festival tickets. It has been evident that clubs are having a tougher time getting punters through their doors but also keeping them entertained as they now seem somewhat spoilt for choice. Rival dance brand Future Entertainment have also struggled in previous years to keep their club nights (Famous) successful and profitable.
The company has hinted that there will be other brands and perhaps one off nights built over the upcoming months, and Stereosonic and Solar will go from strength to strength. They will have one last 'bender' on Saturday 26th of December at their Melbourne and Sydney venues.
