Perth outfit Pendulum is set to give '80s hair-metal a makeover with a re-mix of the Europe hit "The Final Countdown".

The band has planned the mix-up for the Sonisphere Festival in the UK next weekend at which Europe is also billed to play.

Pendulum’s Gareth McGrillen, 27, told Daily Star: “We really want to have a go at "The Final Countdown" by Europe. I think it would be hilarious. They’re gonna be playing Sonisphere with us so hopefully they’ll like that.”

Sounds scary to us but if anyone could pull it off it would be Pendulum. Anyone hoping this goes ahead?
