The Prodigy's Liam Howlett is aggravated by the constant comparisons the media makes between his heritage UK breakbeat group and the Perth-born electro outfit Pendulum.

In a chat with NME, Howlett didn't hold back when he voiced his concerns about the media's constant comparisons.

"People go on about Pendulum being similar to us but they really aren't. I think when you see us alongside each other it's f**king obvious that we're totally different," he said.

"And we're as f**ked off with people going on about that as they are probably."

Howlett said their approaches to music were quite obviously different. "It seems they’ve broken away from their drum ‘n’ bass roots, but are still clinging onto it a bit. Whereas we really kept hold of our roots in rave for quite a while, and something new has come out of it," he said.

"We managed to keep most of our fans and just build."

Well stated, they are completely different and because Pendulum do one remix of a classic and they somehow always get referenced together.
