Thank the Lord and bow before the Gods: Nelly Furtado has confirmed a release date for her new album. With a swag of A-grade producers helping out it's set to be another chart-topper.
The last we heard from this Canadian songstress was 2009's Spanish-speaking album Mi Plan, which was released to a muted response in Australia, and prior to that 2006's 10-million selling Loose. Finally news has emerged that Furtado's fifth album, Lifestyle will be released on May 25.
The world's #1 DJ Tiesto is reportedly working with Furtado on the record. This should come as no surprise following their collaboration on "Who Wants To Be Alone, taken from Tiesto's last album Kaleidoscope. Long-term Furtado collaborator Timbaland will also take up some production duties alongside Ryan Tedder (Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson), Salaam Remy (Amy Winehouse).
Speaking of the album last year, Furtado told Portugese publication IOL of the direction she was heading in:
"It's going to be pop, but I want it to have a more light energy. Sort of like my first album, but not sonically, more in a spiritual sense… more like my first album [Whoa, Nelly!]."
With Furtado's penchant for creating perfect pop anthems, we can't wait for this one. Let the countdown begin!
