Australian electronic dance music sensation Zoe Badwi is about to embark on international success following the announcement of her signing to US record label Atlantic Records.
“I’m trying to take over the world and it’s very exciting. I’m giving it a whirl and that’s what counts,” Badwi tells NovaNation.
Running through her schedule for upcoming months, the “Freefallin” singer appeared pumped for her international domination tour which will see performances in Los Angeles, New York, Brazil and then home to tour Australia.
“My frequent flyer points should be pretty well up there,” she laughs.

Badwi’s family appears to be the driving force behind her support network. When asked about what her father thought of the latest dancefloor delivery, Badwi says: “Yeah he’s got it on his iPhone as his ringtone. Mum and Dad are both very proud.”
Comparing career directions to her brother, Badwi is the first to admit that she doesn’t spring from a musical background.
“I wasn’t the favourite in the beginning because I’d like to say I’m the creative one and he’s the smart one. He’s a logistics analyst so private school payed off there, not quite for me because I was there more for social reasons and they were always like ‘when are you going to get a real job? When are you going to give up this dream?’ Now it’s like ‘We always supported you. We always knew you could do it,” jokes Badwi.

Excited about launching into the next phase of her international career, Australia’s dance-pop export wasn’t going to leave NovaNation without a tip for surviving the summer festival season.
“If you find any lollies on the ground, don’t eat them,” advises Badwi.
